Unlike Delilah, not many of us have the opportunity to seduce a co-worker. Probably for the best, what with HR regulations and all. After all, office flings can be very dangerous. The ascent from mutual attraction to lust-fuelled action is intoxicating, but the descent is very messy. That said having a crush at work is a great way of brightening your day. Here are some dos and don’ts to managing your dalliances.

Do: Flirt lightly. Chemistry is hard to hide. If you’re worried that your other colleagues will notice the two of you, don’t. They already know. Pretending there’s nothing going on will be suspicious.

Don’t: Flirt too hard. While a bit of light banter is great, avoid telling each other how you’d like to rip each other’s clothes off while you’re standing at the watercooler.

Do: Send each other cheeky emails. It’s joyous having someone on your wavelength to share things with.

Don’t: Say anything that can get you into trouble. No trashtalking the boss, no dirty talk and absolutely no pictures.

Do: Talk to each other at social gatherings. The reason there’s attraction is because you like each other. Enjoy that.

Don’t: Get drunk around each other. Before you know it, eye contact will spin into infinity, smiles will turn into lip-biting, hands will be wandering onto thighs, warm breath will feather across your neck as you lean in to whisper something… Um… what were we saying?
