The alarm going off in the morning is normally nobody’s favourite sound, but what if you could plan your day so that when you heard that alarm you knew that you had something nice awaiting you straight away? Couldn’t that make some mornings a bit more fun?

Enter the power of morning sex! Getting busy with your partner, or with yourself, is a fantastic way to start the day and has a myriad of benefits!

First thing in the morning your body is literally ready for sex - oestrogen and testosterone levels are at their peak during this time - these hormones affect your libido so their high levels mean that once you’ve woken up a bit, it’s easy to feel in the mood! Sex at any time can relieve stress and release endorphins, and what better way to start your day than feeling stress free and happy? Some studies have even found that orgasms benefit your skin, so a morning climax will mean that you have that glow all day.

But I barely have time to have breakfast, who has time for sex in the mornings? I hear you. But this is something that’s worth setting the alarm that little bit earlier for. Even if you just spend 5 minutes cuddling and caressing your partner you are reaping huge benefits – deeper connection and higher levels of oxytocin. Also known as the “cuddle hormone,” oxytocin is the chemical in the brain that controls love and bonding.

Why not start by planning a weekend morning sex session with no time constraints, and the promise of a proper breakfast afterwards, and then work your way into weekday mornings as well? You don’t have to commit to loads of time, start with just 5 minutes and once you feel the benefits of that early sensual start you’ll be more than willing to get that alarm set even earlier!
