Everyone who's anyone is listening to podcasts these days - and it seems like there really is something for everyone. From real crime to politics and comedy to lifestyle topics. But there's one genre of podcast which is bursting with potential: the sexcast. 

Some sex podcasts are funny (My Dad Wrote a Porno being a great example!), some are educational and some purely erotica, designed to arouse the listener. And with so many of us now tuning into podcasts on a regular basis - could sexcasts become the ultimate in foreplay?

According to Ofcom, the number of weekly podcast listeners has almost doubled in five years – from 3.2m (7% of adults aged 15+) in 2013 to 5.9m (11%) in 2018.

The increase is across all age groups, but the steepest growth is now among young adults aged 15-24 – with around one in five (18.7%) now listening to podcasts every single week.

The great thing about podcasting is that it’s super accessible, costing very little to set up a show - some of the most popular podcasts worldwide are recorded and edited on inexpensive equipment in the host’s home. It’s also a great way to listen to something a bit sexy without the world knowing, whether you’re at home alone or have your headphones in on a busy train.
