Producing an Adult Film: Part 2

Now, before we move forward with a new film, we have to look back at the one we made earlier! No matter how chuffed you may feel there are always little things that will bug you later. There are also the critics - the kind ones and the few who are sent to keep your feet firmly on the ground. So, it's all about positive evaluation and lessons learned.

Our latest film, The London Sex Project Episode 1: Infidelity, has been a success. We're proud that we made something that is sophisticated and very different from our previous films (and different from much of the adult market). Our grand idea was to create a porno-spoof-documentary that would push the boundaries of reality-style porn. Most reviewers flagged up its originality as a positive thing but there were also a handful who just didn't get it. In truth, this was our fault, not theirs.

So, on a critical tip, these are the things we want to improve for number 2:

- In the end, we did not like the 'filming people without their knowledge' aspect. It was clearly a less convincing part of the film, plus it heavily implied that we champion the invasion of people's privacy (which we definitely do not!).

- We put a lot of time and effort into making the interview scenes authentic and we have been praised for how natural the 'partcipants' come accross. BUT we would like to focus more on getting the sex scenes to be just as natural. After all, good sex is the most important thing to us, so organic scenes with less choreography is the way forward for the next one.

- And last but certainly not least, we want the next film to focus more on 'female fun'. Again, sometimes when you have beautiful intentions and put so much effort into a grand idea, the obvious things can be brushed aside. We have given ourselves a slap on our Joybear bum and promise more girly joy in Episode 2!

We are delighted that we did achieve certain things we set out to do. Our "attention to detail" and "most ambitious production to date" (ETO Magazine) have encouraged people to talk about us and judging from the download sales we think we turned quite a few ladies and gents on along the way. Whilst all that is great, we think we can do better.
