'Manscaping': a trim too far
By Liselle

Yesterday afternoon, I was sat in a beauty spa waiting for a wax (my eyebrows!). Scanning the price list, it suddenly struck me how many different hair-down-there-dos us girls can go for. On the other hand, despite all the male treatments available, if guys want to mow the manly lawn, it's still very much a case of DIY.

Sorry if you disagree, but there's a very simple, common consensus when it comes to our short and curlies: Men should have a bit; women should have a bit less.

So, if the general public are being so sensible on this one, what happened to the down-there man-hair in porn?

In the modern adult industry there isn't a man-bush to behold. Please note I use the term 'bush' loosely. Neat and tidy is definitely best and I certainly don't long for 70s shag-pile. However, I'm not keen on these new sanitised, naked genitals either. See, even the thought makes me refer to them with textbook terminology.

How did this happen? Whoever started the 'less is less' trend had obviously never heard the most useful phrase known to man (and woman): 'Everything in moderation'.

I know what you're thinking: 'This is all very well but we can't help noticing that there isn't much of a bushy theme in Joybear's films either.' Indeed. Not for lack of trying, we rarely meet male models with even a patch of thatch. And so the bush-ban goes on...

I do realise there are practical reasons for getting rid of it all: hygiene, sensitivity and making the precious tools of the trade look bigger. I also understand that in porn, visibility is important and a model must follow grooming trends, or else lose out (or feel self-conscious at every shoot).

BUT aesthetically, zero hair turns his tackle into nothing more than a utensil; 'ready to use and easy to wipe clean.' This could have its advantages but we ladies already have such tools for rainy days and Monday nights. So, when it comes to porn (and my private life) I prefer to be reminded that there is actually a person on the end of the equipment.

And as a hot-blooded female, I'd rather that person was a real, hot-blooded and moderately hairy, man.

Tell us what you think!

Liselle - I totally agree with you - it\'s hardly \"natural\" to see totally hair-free guys and would probably freak me out if it happened in my personal life. I bet French men don\'t shave or wax away their bushes! After all French women ALWAYS have hair under their arms......Trixie
